Buster was strict crate rest for the first 4 weeks and then he was in a xpen for the next 4. He was definitely ready to rumble way before he was allowed to. I was told by my Orthopedic Surgeon to definitely keep a cone on him until they remove the stitches. Dogs mouths have a lot of germs and you do not want them to infect the surgical site or chew on the stitches. Buster got a great soft Kiss-e-cone collar with flames from Hot Rod's mom. Not only was his surgical site protected he looked very handsome too! I have used it other times as well to keep Buster from chewing at himself. I wish Tek a speedy recovery.
