Your vet should be able to get a really good estimate of her age by looking at her teeth. It's not exact, but the vet should be able to give you an estimate that's give or take a few weeks and as more of her "baby teeth" start to fall out, that's good clues about her age (they usually go in a certain order, last being the canine teeth around 5-6 months old). I was lied to about my Yorkies age too (she was 2 months older than they said) and I knew immediatly by looking in her mouth (her adult incisers and molars were in). Once she got to what the vet and I thought was about 6 months old, we knew we were very close because her "baby" canines fell out and she had all the rest of her adult teeth.

If the vet thinks she was about 8 weeks when you got her and the person you got her from said she gave the shots herself, that SHOULD have been only the first ones, so I'd just continue with what your vet recommends (2 or 3 rounds of DHPP (3 only if you're suspicious the previous owner may not have actually given any vaccinations, I would be since it's a shady situation) about 1 month apart, then Rabies one month after the last DHPP.
