How big is your boy.... I had my little guy neutered when he was 6 months and was pretty tiny can't remember exactly but he was def under 3lbs. I just found a great vet who knew ALOT about small dogs. He's done a lot of procedures/deliveries for my breeder and her clients, all of her local clients keep him as a vet. He has saved many a tiny lives, and I trust him entirely with my boy. Find a vet like that and you're fine.
Just wanted to encourage you that while it is scary and I was a nervous wreak for the process, it all turned out well.
Glad all has gone back to normal with your boy... aren't little boys sooo much fun
