Default My little yorkie 'Smalls' suddenly died this weekend.

My teacup of 8 1/2 years died this weekend. I swear I never felt this sad even for any human death. She was so innocent and just wanted to be treated like a baby all the time. This past weekend, she started snorting (as she always did when excited) as we were having an open house. We're selling our house so we had to put 'Smalls' in a room with a baby gate so that she wouldn't disturb the guess. So she started snorting, nothing unusual, but it wouldn't go away, she would always get over it after a couple minutes, but this went on and off for a day and a half. Finally took her in to emergency vet. They immediately gave her oxygen. Vet said they would do xrays to see what the issue is, either lungs or tracheal issue. After about 30 mintes in the waiting room, vet told me she stopped breathing and had to do CPR. That it looks like she won't make it. They had a breathing tube in her mouth helping her breath. Vet said she's suffering...so I had to sign papers to put her down. Before they did, I had one last look at her. She was on her side, slowly breathing but her eyes were open. She looked at me and her eyes had tears in them. I could barely hold my composure. Kissed her one last good by and left the room. My wife and I are just torn. We have small kids (two), but the house is still so empty without Smalls. This forum has helped a lot, reading stories and seeing a large Yorkie community. Thanks in advance for your support.
