Later (couple of years) the groomer mentioned that something seemed wrong with his gums and I might want the vet to take a look. I took him in for teeth cleaning and exam and picked him up without his front teeth and a $295 vet bill. There's no doubt he feels better, but we had been in for shots and such. I wonder why the teeth problem wasn't mentioned and doesn't the price tag seem a bit high?
Seems your vet pulled a fast one. No pun intended. To be honest I am no expert when it comes to dental care. Maybe the teeth were infected? I wish I could be more help. Heres a sound piece of advice I learned long ago, stick to dry food. Canned food dosent do double duty like dry kibble, which does a great job cleaning thier little "TEEF"!!
