i would not be too concerned about the age. They do need to be at least six weeks but a Pug is a very tough dog. He is small right now and the children will certainly have to be watched but there will come a time that you will have to watch the pug because they are so rambumcious (sp). They are very child friendly but play way too rough. For a picture of my pug go to the yorkie brothers and sisters forum and click on "Ceeby's big sister". It is a day or two back.
