Make sure they are combed put and no knots as the clippers would pull on the hair and hurt them. When my dogs are long I comb often so they do not mat.

Thanks for the tips!! i bought a grooming kit from amazon and a folding grooming arm as well, hopefully that would help me keep my babies still... i have 2 babies and i am about to change jobs and i wont be able to afford almost 100 a month for haircuts alone..

i'll let you know how my experiment goes!!
