International law would not take precedence over U.S. law in this case. Many Al-Qaeda operatives have been taken into custody and will be eventually tried on U.S. soil. It would be the Justice Dept. (Eric Holder) that made the determination of where to hold a trial, although I'm sure at the direction of the President.

But...you're so very right.....political affiliation wasn't a consideration, it wouldn't have mattered who was President, the goal was to kill not capture.
