My sweet little Maltese, Codie, licks everything! And I mean EVERYTHING. When we go to sleep at night, he will lick his paws, his butt, my pillow, Jim's pillow, the sheets he's sleeping on, the blanket, the comforter, etc. He will lick everything for a seriously long time until he finally falls asleep.
I've been doing some research and it seems that Codie's behavior could possibly be one of 2 things:
1. Canine Compulsive Disorder (CCD)
2. Canine Acral Lick Dermatitis
I can't seem to find enough information about these 2 disorders. Can anyone help me find some info? Also, does anyone own (or previously have owned) a dog that has one of these disorders?
