When Kacee was a puppy, I started working with her. Inappropriate barking and I would say "no bark" and lay a finger on top of her nose. I just kept this up repeatedly until she learned and now when I say "no bark" she knows what I mean. As a result, she is not a barker. I don't mind barking for a reason. When someone pulls up into the driveway, I consider that appropriate barking, but they should stop after seeing who is there or when you pick them up.
