Suzi is our little miss bark her head off ! We live in an upstairs apt. She can hear when anyone just waslk by on the sidewalk, towards the car, or takes a foot on the stairs. She is a wonderful watchdog, evenso , it really bothers my son's ears, he has autism and can't stand the noise. It does not bother me too much because I look at her as being more protective then as a annoyance. She sometimes really gets going , running to the front window wher eshe can see everybody, and everything, then runs back to the front door. When she is in this mode I do go and check to see whats happening. I have learned that Suzi has different kinds of barking. Sometimes if she is playing with our shih tzu, and then their is this alarming bark . Suzi looks at me to tell me something is wrong... And goes nuts when their is really something going on. My upstairs neighbor who is right next to me, hears Suzi the moment she steps on the first stair, and has even relied on her barking to tell her something is happening at the bottom of our stairs. Because their is a place where certain gang bangers like to hang out, because you can't see them, their are bushes there and the air conditioners, making it a perfect hiding spot. My neighbor has called the police on them , knowing that my Suzi is barking like crazy , and hearing them at very early in the morning . My neihbor has 2 small children to protect , as well as herself, so I think she apreciates it , to have a dog next door with such good instincts.
