I live in Hawaii. All animals must go through 2 rabbies vaccinations, and immune system testing for Hawaii (see the state web site below) and then held in quarantine for 4 months after a good test. My breeder messed up on the sequence of testing and quarantine and after the first 4 we found out we have to start over. In total she was delayed 10 months due to miss understandings of the vet and breeder on that end.

There has never been a case of rabbies on the island. There are no snakes on the island. We do everything we can now to keep out invasive species of al kinds. It isn't easy, but it's worth it.
I've thought about breeding quality Yorkies here, but I don't have the life style for it. I could make a fortune, there are NO quality breeders here for Yorkies. Every Yorkie I have seen that was purchased here does not conform. It's too bad.
