I have some experience with pancreatitis, but it is in my miniature schnauzer not my yorkie...my schnauzer is also hyperlipidic (meaning she has a high level of fat in her blood...which makes her more prone to pancreatic attacks). I have been able to manage her symptoms and disease with the switch to a raw diet and natural supplements (under the advice of my holistic vet). We've had one episode in 7 years. If you are unhappy with the prescription diet (and I was)...then I suggest visiting a holistic vet and perhaps home-cooking for him. I like controlling exactly what's in their diet. |
