Do you me "If it's mottled ... the dog Does carry the gene?" Doesn't mottled mean spotted (like pink with black spots)? I looked inside the mouths of my traditionals the first time I heard this theory and some of my dogs had grey and pink mottling and some were more of a uniform grey color so I don't know if this is a guaranteed way to determine if a dog carries the piebald gene?
