Riley,

You're probably going to get a range of answers on this, many don't
make their pups wait very long, and others do. I'll say this, that being
that Puppy Food is better for a Pup, so, IF you can hold them to eating
it longer, that's probably better.

I leave food out for mine 24/7. Both of mine are "polite" eaters, and
don't gobble everything up, when it's time to eat. Both have their own
schedule, and eat twice a day, 4am/4pm on their own.

I have both Adult and Puppy Dogs, and when MY Female Becca arrived
I put Puppy Food out for her. She (again on her own) ate that for
several months, and changed over to the Adult Food, that was always
out for My Male Sneakers.

I've tried 1/2/3 times a day, attempting to create "my" schedule for
them. Didn't work ! Best thing I did, was leave them alone, and they
are doing just fine without my intervention.

Maybe this way will work well for you.
