Default My cousin bought new puppy- feel it is an accident waiting to happen

My cousin and her husband bought a new puppy 3 days ago. Not a yorkie, but a pug. She is only 5 and half weeks old. Will be 6 weeks on New Years. I told her that I think that was entirely too young for the breeder to allow her to go home. I know I got my yorkie Lacey at 6 weeks, but I know now it is best to wait until closer to 12 weeks. That is not my biggest concern. My cousin has 3 very small children. A 7-year old, a 3-year old and a 22-month old. The poor puppy is very tiny. Only a pound a half. I am so scared that one of her kids will step on the puppy or fall on her and could kill her. I mentioned it to her about my concern. And she says oh, I am careful and I watch my kids. Accidents still happen, no matter how much you try to watch them. And 3 kids are a handful. Several times tonight I had to tell them watch the puppy. And I held the puppy in my lap all night out of fear that something would happen. When I get my yorkie, if my little cousins ever come to my home, Chloe will be put in another room. I don't want my yorkie around small children. I will have to have her in my lap when even adults come over. I don't want nobody stepping on her.
