OK, there is always an adjustment period and there will be jealousy. But there is a huge difference between bringing a second dog home when the first is 10 y.o., vs. Buddy's case (he will be 3 this summer). It's much better if the new and legacy dog have similar energy levels, at least when the puppy stage runs out.
