Before you ditch it why don't you contact RoboYorkie. He's great and can take a look remotely to clean things up.....cheap too! I just purchased a new iPhone and was having problems with my iTunes account and he was able to fix it after I messed around for 3 days with Verizon, in store tech help, Apple and torn the hair from my head.
