So I took Tobey back to the groomers to show them what happened and maybe take them to the vet. They said that skinning was "Clipper burn". It can happens when your dog has extra draw skin/paws and they go in "hard" in those tight and hard to reach grooming areas.

To me this seems like A. the clippers too hot and they need to let it cool, their should be a guard mechanism for this kind of thing.

The groomer was super nice and remorseful and offered to pay my vet bill before I got there if I needed to go. However once I got to the Puppy Shop Boys Pet store and groomers in Costa Mesa, CA they told me that it was "just clipper burn" and reassured me he would be fine. They cleaned and dressed the wounds and gave me some care instructions and sent me off.

They DID NOT offer my money back. I guess I could have asked, but I felt like it wasn't worth the $40 and left. I'm sure they would have given me a free bath/grooming had I asked, but I'm not sure I can go there again. They may be nice, have cute puppies in store, BUT they skinned my dogs ankles and the last time I went they shaved my Yorkie when I just went in for a bath and face trim. OmG!

So now I'm looking for:
1. A nice, affordable, clean and caring groomer in the Orange County, CA area.
2. How to remedy my dogs extra dry paws? The front paws are less so, but the rear paws feel dry and callousy, kinda like mild sand paper.

Any suggestions?
Razor Burn can still cause infection. A good groomer would not have charged you that is the norm and is what is taught to you when you go to grooming school.

1. Don't know any groomers in Orange County.

2. Rough Paws - Bag Balm....buy it at the pharmacy....
