If your husband loves your dog and has bonded with her I would say go ahead and push the issue he may be afraid of the added responsibility but if he tends to ignore her and sees her as a thing or"your dog" then well maybe it would be too much stress on the household to bring another dog in.

we do not know your husband so we cannot tell you what to do. Just listen to all the stories and see which seems most like your husband.

my boyfriend is the very strong "No" until he sees a puppy that's how he ended up with his dog after we started dating.
