What bothers me the most about this story is the gross over-reaction to one incident. Irregardless of fault, owners or store clerks, it was a terrible thing to happen and will live long into the memories of both involved. However, to say then, because this one dog, bit one employee, no dogs will ever be allowed back into the store...across Canada, North America or whatever is a gross over-reaction! How many dogs visit Home Depot or any other store for that matter on a daily basis, who have never had a negative incident! Why don't we hear about those stories? Why must we always focus on the negative, and then build a policy to avoid it? Punish the woman who's dog bit (I think she has been fined, and the dog now requires a muzzle to be in public) and let it go....However, sad, the store clerk as also learned an important lesson...never stick your face in a dog's face, esp if you don't know them!!
But don't ban the rest of us, who love to take our dogs out... |
