My previous yorkies used to have terrible allergies that would cause eye infections, very inflamed skin. My vet would give her a shot of prednisone in the office, followed by a short course of steroids to be taken orally at home. This would usually clear it up - for a while. The vet would go back and forth about allergy testing for her. They would be ready to arrange it, then she would clear up and they would want to wait on the testing. She is passed now, but I can sympathize with what you and your pup are going thru.
I remember, like EllieMay said, they didn't recommend keeping her on the steroids. They helped, but if it doesn't stay clear, they recommended allergy testing. |
