The way I knew about xylitol was that I went to my natural foods, whole foods, market, and I was looking for a good sweetner for my dad, as he has diabetes. The people there are great and were telling me all about stuff like Stevia and other sweetners. But the owner warned me about Xylitol, stating that if you have dogs, it can kill them in a New York Minute, so to speak. Very very very very toxic, poisonous. A killer for dogs. Most people don't know this. People beware. Check all your sugarfree items if you have them and throw them out if they have xylitol. So I am lucky to have known, from my SPROUTS Natural Foods Market. So I'm saying here, any gum, cake, or the sweetner powder itself,
dogs can get into them. I myself forgot to check the label of the maple syrup, only after they ate did I realize I need to check the label. And then my nightmare began. All Yorkie lovers, take heed, if you use artificial sweetners. Much love, Shellie |
