A monthly heartworm preventavite from your vet will protect Izzy from hookworms and roundworms, so definatly talk to your vet about that.

Alice is the same way about wanting to "eat" everything on the ground, so I watch her very carefully and if she seems "focused" on a spot, I quickly tell her "no" and move her along.

I looked at the link on lungworm because I'm not too familiar with it and wow that gave me the heebie geebies. If I were you, I'd go to a tractor supply store or a home depot and talk to them about something to treat your yard with that gets rid of slugs and snails (I don't have experience with it, but there must be something) and be super diligent in watching her when she's outside.
