When he is let loose in my grandparents fenced in yard we still keep a eye on him. You never know if another animal made a hole or whatever. I usually walk around before he is let out and now that he's twelve he runs around and then once he has tired himself out he stays close.
LOL - that sounds EXACTLY like my Bealge I never let her run loose in a fenced yard no matter how secure it is because she'll dig under it every time lol and she's 12 too!
