If you like the mesh, try Puppia or a puppia-type. I have ones like these in red with black nylon & plastic buckles, for all 3 of my pups. It has the metal D-ring on top and they work very well. One note thou -- after a day of swimming, it seemed to stretch out. Just had to cinch it up a bit but something to keep in mind. Here is the type I am talking about
