They will still try occassionally, but it's usually more a dominance issue than anything else. My little female has been known to try and mount her brother if he steals her toys too often.

Over my lifetime, I've had all females, all males and mixes. I've always found that it is more the personality of the dogs that matter more than the sexes. Of course, all of mine have been spayed/neutered to minimize hormonally driven problems.
