IMO I think any dog seems to get along better with the opposite sex. Less rivalry as far as territory. Also this is probably subject to change dependant upon each said dogs personality. I also believe IMO that the earlier you give them a sibling the less impact it usually has because they kind of grow up together in a sense.

That being said, there are 2 male dogs and 2 female dogs in my house and we have minimal problems..if ever.
