My husband and I go camping all the time with our two---of course we're old and we cheat--we have an RV. We use 3 expens arond the front of the camper so the fur babies can go out the door and be in their "fenced in yard" I'm sure you could do the same thing around the front of your tent. It helps to give them a little more freedom. Of course I don't leave them out there when I'm not there
