Other sites have more info on the incident, including pics of dog & bitten employee. Dog was 12 yrs old & employee did reach out to pet the dog. Who knows how good the dog's eyesight is at that age.
While I agree that people should be responsible for their pets, I'm so sick of people just assuming that they have the right to lay their hands on your small dog. They probably wouldn't attempt it with a pit bull or rottweiler...why with a small dog? I've even had employees at Petsmart & Petco do it & you'd think there of all places, employees would be instructed better.
