I agree about not knowing if this is a true story or not. Also agree if the hawk was an eminent threat, the hawk would die before one of my dogs. But that wasn't the case in this situation
Hawks are capable of carrying off a small dog, I've read true stories of that happening. I just think you have to protect your pet by some other means, if at all possible.
