My son went off to college with his old laptop even though I tried to encourage him to get a new one. Finally, after he has fought one problem after another, he bought a MacBook Pro. He just called me tonight & was going on and on about how great it was. He says he wished he had it all along and will never go back. He is bringing it home this weekend and wants me to try it out. He says I will want one too. (He thinks I am made of money!!) I'll write again after I get a chance to try it out. I told him I won't know how to use it, but he said there is no learning -- it all so simple & logical. It was great to hear him so excited about it -- reminded me of when he was little & got a new toy.

The only thing I cautioned him against the MacBook Air because he uses the CD drive so much. The Air does not have one, you have to buy one to use with it separately. He agreed that would be a pain for him. For me, it would be fine as I rarely use my CD drive. But he uses his daily.
