Something I didn't see mentioned here is grooming equipment. Sometimes I board Thor at his daycare. For them, I include a brush and some q-tips, and a nice note asking them to take a few minutes every night to clean his eyes and brush his shoulders, since that is where his harness creates mats. The first time I boarded him there, he came back looking like a yeti. He had tons of dried eye boogies all over his face, and his coat had merged into one enormous snarl ball. Now he comes back looking like himself.
His old owner also looks after him sometimes, and she loves to groom him (or maybe she has higher hygeine standards, ha ha). She always wants everything: shampoo, conditioner, brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, nail clippers....
