It's been a super crazy first year for us taking in, vetting and placing about 60 pups so far…but we wouldn’t change it for the world!
We are very excited about our upcoming annual event, "Rescues Rock the Runway" Fundraiser in May and hope you will be too!
Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc. has teamed up with Petco of New Hyde Park to host our benefit on May 1, 2011, in the events room on the lower level of the New Hyde Park Petco, located at 2300 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY 11040. Doors will open at 12:30 pm, and this event will feature a variety of exciting activities for our guests and their small dogs. The event is open to all small well-behaved non-aggressive dogs and their people. We ask that since this is a public facility to please be considerate and clean up after your dog so we will be welcomed back next year!
There will be a pet fashion show featuring our rescued dogs who will have the honor of wearing the outfits of Bandit Rubio Designs, Platinum Puppy Couture & Hanari Dog Boutique. “Around the Collar” will be displaying their stylish and comfortable collars on our pooches while they strut their stuff down the runway! You won't want to miss the performance by Rick Caran and "Team Jilli-dog" or a special appearance by the "Doggie Moms" from the new hit TV series. For the first time, the entire cast of Doggie Moms will be hitting the runway for "Rescues Rock The Runway II" benefit wearing one of a kind creations by Award Winning Pet Couturier Anthony Rubio for Bandit Rubio Designs.
There will be three contests exclusively for guests; best dressed male dog, best dressed female dog and most alike human and dog outfits. There will be an array of unique and plentiful gift baskets for raffle including a Kiki Hamann Canine Couture "One of A Kind Tote Bag"! The food will be catered by Main Event Caterers. Also expected to be there, a special appearance by "Miracle Max" the 14 yr old deaf Yorkie that came into Yorkie911 Rescue and was miraculously reunited with his owners after 3 long winter months!
