Other than blow drying the only thing I could suggest is possibly to use a flat iron. I hesitate to suggest that though not knowing you and your experience. It can be dangerous if the flat iron is too hot, or gets to close to the skin (can also be damaging to the coat). What about just keeping him in a short cut, and using the blow dryer?
