I agree, age matters, but rarely do dogs you can adopt come without issues. They all have "histories," many of which you will not be made aware of until he/she is home with you. And even if she were to go through a rescue, when she has to disclose information about her lifestyle they would flatly reject her since most rescues require that there be at least one person home at all times (depending on the dog).
