Or you could turn it back to her and say something like, " Yes, just a dog, just a human, whenever a pet or person in
my care requires special treatment because of an illness or injury, I see that they get it, or whatever they need. I am shocked that
you find this so strange! I always thought of you as a better person than that..."
And, of course, say it loud enough for all to hear...
