I've ridden Harley's since the mid 70's and used to take my first Yorkie with me when I rode behind my husband. I would tuck in my shirt and then button her up inside it with her head sticking out the top. She loved it. That was when I was young and foolish.

Since then I have seen many dogs on motorcycles and they make lots of carriers for that purpose. Just look around and you will see then at rallies. You won't notice them if you aren't looking for them because many look like regular motorcycle bags.

I think the safest way is with a sidecar. I have rheumatoid arthritis and am going to put a sidecar on my Electra Glide. I had friends that carried their two schipperke's(?) every where with them in their sidecar. They hooked them in on their harnesses, put their beds, food and water on the floor, and off they went. That's the way I want to take mine with me. It's not perfectly safe but it's not perfectly safe to take them in a car or truck either. I do think they will be happy and comfortable that way.
