Definitely get a second opinion...Blood in urine is not normal. My Miko had blood in his urine when he was about 6 months old and we took him to the vet. They did urine analysis and a urine culture, and they didn't think it was a UTI or a bacterial infection either, but they gave him antibiotics anyway. The blood cleared up and a few months later, he was urinating blood again...They found crystals and stones in his urine and he was having trouble passing them. I wanted to rule out the possibility of a liver shunt, so I decided to have him bile acid tested. To make a long story short, I ended up running full blood tests and urine tests along with the bile acid test, and he ended up having a liver shunt. Now this doesn't mean that he has a liver shunt, but he might have crystals or stones in his urine. Like I said, a second opinion might be good.
