Mary is RIGHT as always, I wean off my dam from her heartguard at least 30 days from expected heat month, I do make sure she stays pretty much in my yard too.. since I don't want to expose her to fleas or other sickness out on the road. I have a pretty good size fenced yard, so she is restricted to the yard for the duration of mating and until the babies are about 8 weeks. is just the way I learned from my mentor and the way I do it..
