That happened with me too! When we finally got our own house I said I wanted to plant an herb garden. i looked at those table top ones, but they were over $100. So I tried to do a regular one outside. As soon as they started to sprout, they dried up and died. The only thing that grew a bit was the garlic chives, but then I think a rabbit came and mowed them over. I didn't get to use them even once.
