Do you prefer a hood?
I definitely prefer NO hood. They are cute, but a nuisance.

Must it have a D-Ring attachment on the jacket itself?
I don't like the actual D-ring on the jacket...but the little hole for the harness's D-ring is a must.

Do you like sleeves?
I can go either way with the sleeves. They do not bother Levi or me.
4.
Velcro or zipper closure?
Hmm. I don't think we've ever had a zippered coat. We haven't had any problems with velcro though.
5.
If attached around dog's belly do you prefer full coverage or one strap under the belly?
Either way - one strap is fine, but full coverage might be warmer.
