When mine was nursing she got a cup of that every morning and night...and she loved it. After weaning I had to work at weaning her from it. She'd bark at the 'frig 'til I gave her some. Since she lost a lot of weight while nursing I think it did her good - supplemented with a high calorie supplement...and she gained her weight back and then some...never lost it!!
We also fed her a lot of chicken breast meat - she gobbled that down right after having the pups.
