It's easy to forget that a small percentage of all animals are born with severe birth defects or congential abnormalities. In the years before cell phones & pagers, it wasn't so easy to have any kind of doctor on standby, especially if you live in the country. People did what needed to be done. Hopefully, with care, compassion and a loving heart.
