SO I have posted here about being ready to look for a new baby dog, to fill the huge hole in my heart since my DeDe went to live at my ex's with my daughter. She is spoiled as can be there, and I will have her here all summer...but the lack of a Yorkie baby in my life every day has been excruciating.
A good friend of mine who I have known since I was a kid who lives about 2 hours from me contacted me to say, she knew of a colleague of hers who may have a female Yorkie. She called with the phone number and I made the call.
Oh my gosh!! It was like he was describing DeDe! She even eats the same food. Crazy. Best of all, they are wanting to give her away. Healthy, trained, spayed...perfect size (same as DeDe), 4 years old, same temperament (they will be together in the summer and potentially more.)Wow...I feel like I won the Yorkie lottery!
There have been bad storms over our general area and when we talked their internet was down. He said he was going to send me a pic of her (she got groomed today!) and her name is even perfect...Roxy.
After we hung up, I talked to DH (who knows how much I want a baby again and is totally on board) and I realized that I did not need to SEE her, how she looks is totally unimportant to me. This is too perfect, and I am beyond blessed with this opportunity. I called, and it went straight to voicemail, but I left a message that her looks are unimportant, I know that this is the baby for me. I literally get choked up thinking about it. If all goes well, and it works for them, I am going to make the 5 hour round trip tomorrow to bring Roxy home!
I am so excited! I hope they do not change their mind. He said he agreed we were a good match and I know for a fact that I will love had cherish her SO much! I will let you guys know how it goes and post pics. Thank for listening!!!
