Their heritage is from a Yorkshire and were developed into this breed by a pie-bald recessive gene to develop the colorings. Here is a couple of good links that will help you understand the breed. These are the top German Clubs that represent the Biewer Yorkshire breed as our YTCA represents the Yorkshire Terriers. These links I have added are the translated links for your reading pleasure...lol. On the serious side it has some interesting and good factual reading on the breed and it's standard. It is my goal to educate those interested in learning about the Biewers as I have decided to get involved in being a breeder here in America.
Regarding the price you read in the paper in my opinion is quite a bit over priced... If people are patient and wait they can and will find them for a reasonable price.
This is one of my Male Biewers at his last show in Nov. We are really excited to attend the show in Lexington, Kentucky on April 8th & 9th. as well as taking some of our Biewers back to Germany in October to show in their homeland... |
Thanks for the information. So, Biewers is not a Yorkie then. It is a whole other breed and it's just called "Biewers Yorkshire." That really clear it up for me. I am definitely gonna follow the link and get myself educated. Thanks again. By the way, your Biewers is so beautiful. Please keep us posted on the show.
