For training treats, we used Zuke's Mini Naturals. They are small, soft and chewy, and make great training treats. We got the chicken ones most of the time but tried others also, including the salmon ones. My dogs like chicken flavor treats and foods, so we stick to those most of the time. When we didn't have any Zuke's, we would use plain Cheerios. They work too, but the Zuke's are more tempting for the pups.
For food, we used Nature's Variety Prairie chicken and brown rice. The kibble is small and easy for them to eat, and it's an all life stages food so we could feed it to all our dogs.
Yes, every once in awhile you have to do a little trimming in the sanitary areas. That is unless you want to take them to the groomer frequently. I can tell you about my first experiences, but I will spare you the details. Just keep them trimmed and you'll be fine. Cleaning after the fact is no fun. |
