Perhaps it is time for him to be neutered? He may have started marking? Just a wild guess. I'm afraid I've never had a small male doggie, just big one's outside.
I understand the furniture problem better now.
I suppose that could be a problem, though, because he sleeps on the bed and probably considers it his territory and right to play there.
