I honestly see no problem using a gentle leader on a yorkie as long as it is fitted properly. They should not be able to get out of them (tho some pups do have lots of tricks up their sleeves and do manage it somehow). I think they work better on yorkies built like Britster's Jackson then my Morgan. Jackson is a big, muscular boy with a longer muzzle and Morgan is a petite little girl with a short muzzle.
I've had problems with the Easy Walk harness on a beagle that comes to my shop for day care. It loosens up and he can get his leg out of it if your not paying attention.
