I really worry about Polo not being properly diagnosed and given the care he needs. It sounds like the steroids are helping to some degree, but they are only prolonging his suffering and are not a cure. In the meanwhile, his health may be deteriorating, and I also worry about long-term use of steroids--if he even has a chance at a long life because of delaying his treatment. I pray for Polo and for you to have the love and courage to do what is right for him. If that means surrendering him to rescue, my heart would break for you, but you'd know in your heart that you gave him a chance for a long, healthy life. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. In the end, you must ultimately do what's best for Polo. He is relying on you to give protect and care for him. |
